We said goodbye to Mury the Elf on Christmas Eve....he went back with Santa to the North Pole to get ready for next Christmas. If we are lucky and very good he might return to us next year. We had a great time with him and he is now a member of the family. On Christmas Eve he sat atop a decorative tray of mine and Cman said goodbye before going off to bed, excited about Santa, but sad at the same time to see Mury leave:
Cman not only woke up Christmas morning to some great presents from Santa, but he had a very nice note from Mury and the kids also had small presents hidden under the tree that Mury had left for them. Cman had left Mury a Christmas ornament that he had made with his picture on it for Mury to take to remember him by. YOU WILL BE MISSED, MURY !!!!!!
Here's the rest of Mury's shenanagins on previous nights:
Sitting atop my clock....he had also gotten into my ribbon and hung strands of it off the clock :)....and on the Santa sitting at the base of the clock he had convinced Elmo to come take a ride on Santa's back :) :)
....and of course Miss K. had to get in on the camera action :)

The night before he showed up on top of my kitchen wreath :)
...and before that on top of the entertainment center amidst all my baskets :)
...and then he was way on top of my antique shutters in the living room :
..and then the funniest thing was when we found him on the floor in front of my china cabinet sitting on top of Grandma's cookies with crumbs everywhere and a note written on top of Grandma's note saying...."GRANDMA ROCKS !!!!".....we about killed him for this one !!! Luckily, he has such a small stomach that he couldn't eat many cookies, so that left plenty for us ! :)
Before that he was on top of my decorative mirror in the dining room....he looked kinda cute perched up there on top :)
...and then before then, he was found sitting on top of a decorative rabbit and he had taken some of Miss K.'s alphabet letters off the fridge and placed them down to spell out his name. Guess he couldn't find an "R".....LOL :) In the background is a picture and note that Cman had left for him :)
Muuuuuuuuuurrrrrrryyyy Christmas 2008 !!

A couple of nights ago Mury was found inside Cman's stocking hanging on the fireplace with a bunch of shredded paper all around him ????!!! He made a mess again ! :)
Then, the next night he was seen sitting on Santa's walking cane right next to the Christmas tree. He had taken one of Cman's ornaments off the tree and hung it around him :)
He has been leaving notes every night in response to Cman's cards and notes as well. His handwriting is not really great, though :)
Muuuuurrrrry Christmas !

Mury the Elf continues his mischief night after night. Last night it took some looking to find him in the morning, but he was finally spotted in my wrought iron cabinet sitting on the shelf (looking cute as always :) :)
Night before last he showed up in the downstairs potty sitting on the toilet tissue :0) He had also cut some of my nice ribbon and tied a bow on the holder :)
AND THAT CRAZY ELF TURNED THE TOILET WATER GREEN !!!!!
The night before that he was being sweet and showed up perched on my decorative wall thingie......he had also left a stocking with 2 $1 dollar bills in it...one for Cman and one for Miss K. Guess he was mad at Dman since he doesn't ever leave him any notes :) :)
Mury, you have just been the most fun ever so far !
*********************************************************************************************************************
Well, he's not totally crazy...but he seems to like fruit loops...or maybe just making a mess ! This is where he showed up this morning...in the downstairs bath hanging from a towel rack with Fruit Loops spread all over the sink :) :)
They were all IN the sink too, but I had to move them so the kids could wash their hands :)
And he's still smiling !!! :) :) :) :) Complete with some magic dust sprinkled on him before Cman went to bed tonight :)
By the way, the reason Cman named him "Mury" is that it sounds like "Muuurrrrryyy Christmas !".......very smart :)

Well, Mury's first night with us last night was a good one ! This is what we woke up to this morning :)
The sneaky little guy had gotten some of Miss. K's dress up clothes and hung them on the ceiling fan while he proceeded to hang himself upside down from it as well ! He must have even persuaded Barbie to come join him, cause there she is up there having a party with him !!! :) :) :)
Barbie looks like she's saying HEEEEEELLLLLPPPPP !!!!!
Oh boy !!! I wonder what we have to look forward to next...yikes !!!! :)

Yep...that's right ! The D. clan has their very own special houseguest...MURY THE ELF !! Cman really wanted one, so he started putting out saltine crackers and ice cold water about 4 days ago and today was the magical day ! He will be with us up until Christmas Eve when he must go back with Santa to the North Pole until next year. He watches over the D. clan to make sure that we have been nice...NOT NAUGHTY and then every night comes alive and flies back to the North Pole to report back to Santa. Stay tuned to this very blog as we will journal about the everyday happenings of Mury....as I'm sure that he will get into some mischief somewhere along the way :)
Here's the letter that C. left out with the elf food a couple of days ago to make sure Santa would send an elf:

Like I said before, the fall colors here are the most gorgeous right now I have seen them in several years. Me and Miss K. headed out for a bit today with intentions of taking some pics in the fall color. Our trip was short-lived as a front started coming in and it started clouding up pretty quickly. So, I only got a couple of shots, but the colors are unbelievable....I find it distracting to drive as I want to look around me instead of at the road :) :)
Miss K. picking a few "tree star" as she calls them :)
...and just one of the many pretty trees up at the park where we play baseball and live :)
and here are a few from the "red" persuasion...I took this from my car window in an office park :) :)
Sooooo beautiful..........................................................................................................
I wish I had taken some pictures today....it was such a beautiful day. The Fall colors are the prettiest here right now that I think I have seen in several years....just gorgeous ! Me and Miss K. headed out today to watch my tennis team play (I'm still out due to my sprained ankle) and we had a marvelous day. She was suuuuuch a good girl and everyone at the match commented on how good she was. That's my little princess !

It was perfect weather here for Halloween night. I was able to snap a few photos before heading to our neighborhood party before trick or treating. Cman didn't really have anything he wanted to dress up as, so he just went as Derek Jeter and wore his Yankee baseball uniform :) Dman didn't dress up this year....he's in High School ya know :).....and Miss K. was a beautiful Butterfly Fairy. She was really into the whole scene this year...went trick or treating and said "Happy Halloween !" every where she went :)
Here's just one I have edited...more to come later:)

Ok...and here's another one of Her Majesty :)
I made the tutu last year...we just added some new wings...a butterfly headpiece:) and a little overskirt to match the wings and ballet slippers.....and the view from behind:)
and the gorgeous butterfly hamming it up for the strange camera:)
